Dementia affects close to half a million Australians. That number is set double in the next 25 years.
If we are to prepare for this increase, it is vital we clear up some of the prevailing misconceptions about dementia.
The concept for Dementia Action Week 2020, 'A little support makes a lot of difference', has been developed in consultation with Dementia Advocates, who have a lived experience of dementia. The stories and voices that will feature across Dementia Action Week are real.

One of our residents (Dot) has been busy knitting up several patchwork quilts (during stage 4 lockdown) to give to charity . She has become quite proficient; being able to knit up to 15 x patches per day.
Great work Dot. The quilt looks amazing.
One of our residents (Owen) loves to show off his courtyard garden. It looks like a mini botanical garden with an assortment of plants & hanging baskets; all beautifully maintained & cared for. Owen has grown most of the plants from his own cuttings and lovingly tends to the garden throughout the year. He is particularly keen on Orchards.
